On August 24th, 2023,the Directors Symposium of Sports Department in China-Russia Universities was successfully held in the VIP conference room of Harbin Engineering University(HEU). Lomonosov Moscow State University, Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University, Beihang University, Saint Petersburg State University, Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, and Harbin Engineering Universityattended this symposium, and Su Qingfu, the minister of the Sports Department of HEU, served as the host of the symposium.

Gavrilov·Viktor·Borisovich,director of theSportsDepartment of the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology,explained the teachingconditionsof physical education classes and the development of students at the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology.He added thatMoscow Institute of Physics and Technology is committed to cultivating all-round talents with parallel development of mental and physical strength, and hopes to carry out more exchanges and cooperation with Harbin Engineering University in the future.
Borzov·Dmitry·Aliksandelvich, head of the Far East of the Moscow Volleyball Federation, said that through cooperation with Chinese universities,they can promoteeducational exchanges and cooperation in the Far East, andadvancethe progress of talent training, scientific research innovation and academic exchanges. In the future, it is hoped that universities in the Far Eastcouldcooperate with Chinese universities to promote thedevelopment in termsof education, scientific research and social development,delivering a prosperous and developed area.
In order to further strengthen the friendly and cooperative relations between Chinese and Russian universities,alldirectorsfromthe six Chinese and Russian universities jointly signed the Memorandum of Understanding(MOU)on Cooperation and took a group photo. The signing ofMOUmarks a new stage of cooperation in physical education between China and Russia in higher education.Witha solid foundation and comprehensive framework, the two sides will strengthen cooperation and exchanges, learn from each other, and jointly promote the progress and development of physical education.Moreover,Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University and Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology sentcongratulatory letters to celebrate the 70th anniversary ofHEU,extendingtheir warmest congratulations and sincere greetings toall members of HEU.
Finally, Li Kai,the Party secretary of theSportsDepartment ofHEU, made a concluding speech.He first expressed thanks tothe representatives of the participating universities for their congratulations on the 70th anniversary of Harbin Engineering University, andthen focused o theclose connection between Harbin and Russiain terms ofgeographical locationandcultural heritage, deeply expoundingthe purpose and significance of holding the China-Russia University Women’s Volleyball Invitational Tournament and theSymposium of theDirector of theSportsDepartment. Li suggested establishing channels of mutual communication, improving the inter-university exchange and cooperation mechanism in the form of achievementslists, and holding regular academic and teaching exchange meetings to promote all-round cooperation between Chinese and Russian universities in talent training, sports competition, discipline development and other aspects.
The successful holding of thissymposium will furtherboostexchanges and cooperation between universities of the two countries and promote the development and progress of physical education.
