On August 24th, “Bridge of Friendship: Student Exchange Symposium of China-Russia University Women’s Volleyball Invitational Tournament” was held in the conference room of the comprehensive gymnasium at Harbin Engineering University (HEU), which is part of the China-Russia University Women’s Volleyball Invitational Tournament. As an important part of celebrating the 70th anniversary of Harbin Engineering University, the tournament is not only a dialogue between Chinese and Russian athletes in the sports arena, but also an exchange and integration of knowledge, culture and ideas between Chinese and Russian university students.
Gathering the power of sports at the symposium, two women’s volleyball teams from HEU and Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology demonstrated the collision of wisdom and thinking, and jointly wrote a beautiful chapter about friendship, teamwork and cultural exchange.
The topics of this symposium covered many aspects of training, study and daily life of these players. These students discussed in depth the differences in the admissions mechanism of women’s volleyball in Chinese and Russian universities, and exchanged the ideas how to balance sports training and studies. They talked about daily training methods, shared the emotional management strategies in competitions at all levels and the way to enhance cohesion between team members, finally, they exchanged views on future career plans. With great thought and wisdom, the speeches of the two countries’ students were wonderful and inspiring. This symposium also enhanced the mutual understanding and mutual learning of the women’s volleyball players.
It is worth mentioning that the girls of the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology added exotic charm to the symposium. They shared interesting cultural differences between China and Russia in a humorous tone, bringing a more relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere.
The symposium ended successfully in a warm atmosphere, leaving seeds of friendship and hope for future cooperation. The captains of the two teams exchanged contact information, and in fact, the symposium not only allowed athletes from the two universities to establish contact in the realm of volleyball, but also built a solid bridge of friendship between Chinese and Russian youth.

Students from the two countries demonstrated the responsibility and demeanor of young people in China and Russia through sharing their views and exchanging ideas.
